Weekly Playlist: Tick Tock

In Weekly Playlist, we enlisted five selected songs with a common theme, look-alike video or by having the same usage of words or any particular phrases in each video respectively. And by 'selected', I means the songs that I really diggin' into and would definitely recommend you guys to listen to. Ehem...it's my playlist btw. What d'ya expect?

So, this week it's the time tickin' edition with the following clips...enjoy!

5| Madonna: 4 Minutes (ft Justin Timberlake, Timbaland)

4| Ke$ha: Tik Tok
I might not visually attracted to her but I really like the songs. Who didn't especially when she's staying on the Billboard Chart on #1 spot for weeks.

3| Epik High: One
Back in 2008, when I first started listen to Kpop, this is the kinda songs that I listened to. Good Music!

2| Gwen Stefani: What You Waiting For?

1| U-Kiss: Tick Tack (Japanese Version)
This is the song that I listen to when I'm hitting the gym or jog. The upbeat rhythm really gets my heart pumping faster than usual. Okay, that's a lil' bit exaggerated...pardon me. But yeah, some people may have not yet  to-drool-over this group, but I already am.

Katy Perry | You Can Keep the Diamond Ring (Part of Me)

Oh how much I've been anticipated for the release of this video. Finally "Part of Me" indeed a complete confession of Katy Perry that speaks to most people out there which might have been in the same situation. Represent!

As a fan of her(you know this blog is Katy/Big Bang bias, so don't gave me that look :P), I just couldn't accept it when the haters spitting out by saying that she's being a copycat. Comparing this video teaser(check here) with Lady Gaga-Alejandro and Rihanna-Hard is so not acceptable. Just because she was in some sort of army and that makes her a copycat, duh! Look at how beautiful this video turned out to be. At least, the soldier were not in spandex, fishnet and gosh heel btw. Eat that banana*.

Just so you know, music is awesome. Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Madonna yada yada yada...they all awesome. But it only turned ugly when it comes to the fan. So, please for ever once stop this "my Queen is better than your Queen" kind of attitude.

See how close they were at the Grammy. So should we.

I still remember the first time I listened to one of her not-so-hit song, One of the Boys, that turned me a fan. During that time she was so vulnerable and innocent that makes me wanna eat her up. Okay this sounds sarcastic. Love her even more when I watched her performed live in this video. For god sake I cannot remember for how many times that I've been replaying this video all of these years.

4 years ago:
"I know what you know but now you're gonna have to take a number,
It's okay maybe one day but not until I get my diamond ring"

4 years later:
"So you can keep the diamond ring,
It don't mean nothing anyway"
Woah, Strong Woman Invasion.

Youtube Malaysia

I for one have been wondering the entire day why on earth does a KLCC tower been doing on a Youtube homepage icon. So it has been said that Youtube has currently set a localized domain in our effing country Malaysia (which can be accessed by youtube.com.my). Woot woot...now give me a big wave people. In another words, more people would recognized or at least knows what videos that are trending in Malaysia.

Check this video out, people. I'm getting excited watching some Malaysian musician and Kpop stars welcoming Youtube Malaysia. And did you guys hear what CL just said, how she wanna see us soon. I don't know how soon but you better bring it CL!

Jot this down: Would definitely checking out Joe Flizzow's old new songs/music video featured here; and the group by the name Tenderfist. They gave me the best 5 sec first impression through their some-sort-of-techno-song that I've heard just now.

Credit goes to allkpop and youtube/blog for bringing me the updates.

Thor meets Bella!

A new twist from Rupert Sanders on a classic fairy-tales, Snow White. I'm totally excited over the moon for this movie to hit the theater. Lined up with big names, Kristen Stewart(Twilight), Charlize Theron(Monster, Aeon Flux) and Chris Hemsworth(Thor); what's not to like about this movie?

[Snow White and the Huntsman]

"Lips red as blood, Hair black as night, Bring me your heart my dear dear Snow White"

A lil' bit less darker than the 'huntsman, Mirror Mirror is another anticipated version of Snow White where you just cannot NOT TO BUY the ticket since, it's Julia Roberts that made it on the screen as the sarcastic evil step-mother.

[Mirror Mirror]

Narrator: "Once upon a time in an enchanted kingdom. There was a beautiful princess with skin as white as snow and hair as black as night..."

Julia Roberts: "bla bla bla, her hair is not black it's raven and she's 18 years old and her skin has never seen the sun. So, ofcourse it's good". XD ROFL

Frankly I couldn't decide which movie should I watch, since I'm telling myself to go for both. We'll see who makes a better Snow White and the evil Step-Mother.

B1A4 | Baby I'm Sorry

Of all Kpop newbies, B1A4 sure did catch my attention when they first debuted with OK-GO. I know right, who didn't. Yet, I don't know why, most Kpop newcomers that were trying to break into the scene nowadays doesn't bring that much impact that I was expecting from them. Instead, most of them looking more like a wannabes and sounded the same.

I'm sorry I was speaking the honest truth. Still, how much different is B1A4 compared to those other group that I was trying to compare to. Give me a sec...actually, I see no difference but but but...they sure did have 'something' that makes me wanna see and listen more from them and their music.

Let's take one of their hit single "Only Learned Bad Things", as a guy, I can pretty much say that I'm diggin' the song without even have to look at the mv. In other words, their producer really did a good job without even have to stressing much on the looks. Yes, they do have this pretty boy image as one of their marketing strategy but on top of that, their music sounded pretty as well.

Come down to this, it's time that I'm making some review on their latest promotion and music video, 'Baby, I'm Sorry'.

[1| Teaser Image]
Finally, somebody do understand the definition of a teaser image. I see most Kpop like to came up with a teaser image to indicates their comeback. It's a way of telling the fans that "this is the kind of concept we wil be using for our upcoming music video". But I see no resemblance once the video is out. For instance, Super Junior's Bonamana Teaser Image which telling a concept of hype and funky with bright colors and stuff. EMO is how the video ended up to be. Oh, well...but for this teaser image, you can tell they using the same clothes in the video as well. Thumbs up.

[2| Music]
I like the beat, the music sounds awesome as well but I have a feeling like they were trying to mix 2 or 3 songs in one. For instance, Baro rapping in the beginning sounds dark-ish (Outsider kinda) I must say. It was then transited to Sandeul's auto-tuned then BAM it's actually a dancing-party songs. Afterwards, it's getting cute-er at min 1:30 and it was all mixed up towards the end. I wonder what the song is actually about? Depression, after-break-up song or they just wanna throw a party, that's all. Mmmhh..

[3| Music Video]
Since the music and some of the lyrics already confusing me (tho' relying to only the English words for my understanding is not a good idea), I find it even more confusing by watching the video.

Did someone else noticing CNU dramatic scene when he's trying to getting rid of his past memory at 2:34.  He was like taking his moment, almost in tears...and so we get it. But wait, what the heck did Jinyoung singing 'Dancing Party Time, Dancing Party Tonight' with a smile on his face. Is Jinyoung the devil that stir the relationship. Bummer*

So, what is the MV is actually about?
a) Baby, I'm sorry that we cannot be together
b) Baby, I'm sorry I steal your girlfriend -Jinyoung
c) Baby, I'm sorry for party rocking

[4| Dance]
I like their 'leg's floor-sweeping' dance. But I've to point out that their signature dance still rules in this video, the jumping. lol

And so, I end this post.

Who's your favourite youtube singer/songwriter?

Yeah, I've to admit as recent I've been way too active with Youtube rather than Facebook. Blaming to the fact that Facebook has caused me much dizziness by the so-called upgraded system and interface. So, call me a youtube-freak, I don't care...maybe that'd be a lil' harsh for me, sober, but it's just my kind of way in spending my spare time with things that I love to do. So, I just wanna promote some of the youtube singer which I like so damn much. Ya'll should check them out and subscribe to their channel, seriously.

#1 | Daniela Andrade

This girl is one of my all time favourite youtubers from Canada. Her angelic voice really melts my heart every time she sings.

#2 | Jake Coco

I was once notice his channel when he posted this video on youtube. TGIF-One of my favorite song. He has done a great job by twisting the funky song into a mellow-sorta tune.

#3 | Mike Tompkins

He's the kinda MysteryGuitarMan for music production. Watch the video, need I say more?

#4 | Najwa Latif

Yeah, not to forget our locals. Hehe...tho' I might have to say that her standards may not reach up to Yuna's level yet. But she's got talent which is raw as a diamond, once it polished, it'll shines brighter than the rest.

As for now, who's your favorite youtube singer/songwriter?

MBLAQ - Cry

Out of all Kpop song that has been released this year (at this current), this song definitely taken my attention and to looklet + blog about it. Somehow listen to it for the first time I felt like the song is quite Usher-ly to say. Nevertheless, I am so glad that at last 2011 seeing a new wave of Kpop, instead of clubbing-techno tune from one to another, they were something like this.

p.s : Btw, since the mv is lacking the presence of a female model/actress, the above looklet interpretation  of mine, I think best fit in the video. Hihi~

Girl's Day - Nothing Last Forever

(Girl's Day-Nothing Last Forever Inspired @ Looklet.com by 5th MK@me)

The Name : Girl's Day
Company's Name : DreamTea Entertainment
Members :

(The girl with shades, leader)

(I find it difficult to identify who's who, they kinda look the same, by which all the Koreans tho'. No harsh, I'm speaking nothing but the truth. Sorry sorry!!)

(The maknae(youngest), I've to admit she's cute)

(To all the haters, this picture proves they got no commercial value is epic fail)

So, that was it. To me personally, Girl's Day got this very potential to go further in the Kpop industry. I think they are very unique, by which not trying to imitate any existing Kpop's Group which looked, sounded the same...well, most of 'em are. But then, due to their uniqueness, I think they might have to struggle more to win the Kpop fans which to me they are very bias. Nothing much to say 'bout that tho'. :P

So yeah, I'm routing for GD (Not G-Dragon btw) and wish 'em all the very best in anything that they are doing. Really hope more people will start to give 'em chances by which supporting their music. Okay, this has nothing more less making me sounded like their manager.

p.s: I do not own any of this picture...esp the profile. Pardon me.

Mike Posner - Cooler than Me

If I could write you a song,
and make you fall in love,
I would already have you up under my arm.
I used to pull all my tricks,
I hope that you like this.
but you probably won't,
you think you're cooler than me.

you got designer shades,
just to hide your face and
you wear them around like
you're cooler than me.
and you never say hey,
or remember my name.
its probably cuz,
you think you're cooler than me.

you got your hot crowd,
shoes on your feet,
and you wear them around,
like they ain't shit.
but you don't know,
the way that you look,
when your steps
make
that
much
noise.

see I got you,
all figured out,
you need everyone's eyes just to feel seen.
girl, your so vain,
you probably think that this song is about you.
don't you? don't you?

if I could write you a song,
and make you fall in love,
I would already have you up under my arm.
I used to pull all my tricks,
I hope that you like this.
but you probably won't,

you wear them around like,
you're cooler than me.
and you never say hey,
or remember my name.
it's probably cuz,
you think you're cooler than me.

you got your hot crowd,
switching your walk,
and you don't even look when you pass by.
but you don't know,
the way that you look.
when your steps make
that
much
noise.

and don't you dare act like you don't know,
know what's up,
cuz your nose is up.
I'm approaching up.
like I can't give you winter in the summer
or summer in the winter
Miami in December
trying to look bored in them Dior's.
she probably is,
Was acting shallow 'til she found out
how deep that my pockets is
Mrs. pre-Madonna, this is your reminder
That I think you're fine, but I'm finer

'Cause it sure seems
('Cause it sure seems)
You got no doubt
(That you got no doubt)
But we all see
(We all see)
You got your head in the clouds
(Clouds)

if I could write you a song,
and make you fall in love,
I would already have you up under my arm.
I used to pull all my tricks,
I hope that you like this.
but you probably won't,
you think you're cooler than me.

Lady Gaga's Miniature

Hey, listen up....mmmh, with your eyes. Something cool for you to check out is the freakiest Lady Gaga's miniature which were made wholly over the Barbie. How freak is that. And so the Barbie were once again the victim of Hollywood's abuse, not long after Katy Perry's Ur So Gay.

Jupiter Rising

Something fresh to start with. From this month onwards...I'm going to post my recommendation of an artist that you should know which I think they are just so cool. Regards of fame and glamor, their music is definitely the one that I'm looking for.
____________________________

Jupiter Rising, is one of the most anticipating electro-pop artist from America which gambles pop, rock, hip-hop, folk, down-tempo, R&B and funk genre. This group comprise from Jessie Payo (which is the lead vocals/songwriting/co-production), and Spencer Nezey (which is the vocals/beatbox/production/songwriting). By the way, they named as it is just to indicate the rise of the biggest thing(planet) in the solar system. (-_-)"

Jupiter Rising start by kicking-off the industry officially in 2006 where their self-titled album, Jupiter Rising, was debuted with a former lead vocal, 80 Bug, a gospel singer (which is now replaced by Jessie Payo). Frankly speaking, I'm not into this group before even when their hit number's, GO, was a hit. It's a little bit dark for me.

2007 saw a difference in Jupiter Risng when the album titled Electropop was released.with a new member, Jessie Payo. One of the hit song, electropop gets a massive respond from the fans and me too, think that it was their most successful single so far. I'm actually really looking forward to see this group grows in the future as what they have did so far was awesome. Though they are not that "famous", but I think if their on the right track and more people start to notice them, the new BEP is here.

Catch them up @ Myspace.

Malaysia Must Watch!

During my flight back and forth KL-Cape Town, I once watched Afdlin's masterpieces 'Papadom' and 'Setem'. Awesome and fantastic. Through out watching both movies, I always kept in my head saying that, "No wonder they've won a lot of awards". Most recommended!

Beyonce postponed concert in Malaysia.

It has been a while I haven't updated or even goes online. This latest updates that I'm attracted to gets into is the latest Beyonce's cancellation (postponed, lets pray the concert didn't need to be cancelled) to make concert in Malaysia. Supposedly, last 25th October, Malaysia will be witnessing for the first time Beyonce performance. Due to some reason. which we know why (I guess...for the same reason), the concert have to be postponed.

That sounds Bad, as I can say this. But on the other part, I may have to bow down and let the concert to be postponed. No, not because I'm agreeing with the fact that it has to be postponed because of this "a lot of protest & banned against it". Just becuse, I got exam lah.

But, I'm pretty sure if the I am concert tour will be on again, I'll be the one to book (and buy lah, of course), the ticket.

Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince

I supposed, this is the first time I've watched Harry Potter without reading the book first.

My exact purpose to Mid Valley yesterday was to watch Yasmin's Talentime. From the ads, they saying that in support for the Yasmin Ahmad's "dana", they screening it back. Unfortunately, things doesn't go like what I've planned. Shocked* Maybe I was too late, or maybe the GSC in Mid Valley didn't relate at all with the programs. Either way, I felt depressed. I've always been looking for a time to watch the movie. But due to many unrelated circumstances, I didn't have the chance to do so. Enough of that.

As I was saying, yesterday, after browsing through all the movies that are going to be screen on that day.... including G.I Joe, Transformers(can't believe they still have it), proposal etc... I was surprised, total surprised when Harry Potter already out. I thought it will be later after August, maybe. But this time, it feels like it comes to you and you didn't have to wait. Yesteryears, I've been always be one of the guys who counting days for Harry Potter to come. This time, without notice. Maybe the ads on H.P is less or maybe I've been one who missing almost everything. As if you know what I mean.

On the movie. 3.75 or maybe 4 star instead. I like it a lot. When they labelled it as 13pg (parental guide), you must already expecting something good going to come. More violent, evil, scary...... I can pretty said that I'm satisfied. The storyline from the beginning until the end was all superb. They didn't drag silly stuff from one scene to the other, every scene seem like all related. Get adrenaline rush at certain scene, I spoof uncertainly, which I can say AWESOME. What else, I LIKE IT A LOT. But maybe there are certain scene which seem too loose and hanging. We need to know what happen next, but no, maybe they ask us to look for the answer in the book. Now I know how does it feel to be lost in a movie. The fighting scene seem less astonishing. We need more. Like in H.P and the Order of Phoenix, I think the fighting scene is better especially when Sirius Black death caused me tears. One thing I remember the most when watching H.P and the order of Phoenix...... I kept hugging my bags all the time because everything seem even more scarier.

p/s: really like the inner-deep Draco Malfoy's character which is so dark. You didn't know what will happen. (Unless you read the book, LOL)

Super Junior: since when I like 'em?

Glad that I notice myself, "I'm not a big fan of Suju".

Begin with the most hectic song of the year, Sorry Sorry, I realize that Suju can make it BIG. Talk about Its You, my favourite song from Suju's 3rd album so far aside from Monster & Reset. (Most recommended song to be listen). Well back to the main topic, I am not a big fan of suju. No offense. They are good but not so before.

One of my Bestie recommended Suju to me before the releasing of the 3rd album, and to be honest I had never fall in love with anything that they do. The song, the dance..... it was all mess up & too cute for a guy. I know that a lot of girls out there are drooling on this group (esp when 13 guys do cute stuff together), to me it was all lame. "OK lah for fun".

Yesterday, coincidentally my remote switched onto 708 (8tv), late night show, I saw this PV with this bunch of hideous guys singing not so likeable song to be heard by my ear. (Contoversial statement). I switched back to 713/714 at a glance. Didn't want to ruined my sense of hearing. At that time I didn't know who were the artists. From my first impression, that must be some sort of Japanese. I guess.

Just now, I've opened Youtube. Guess what. After clicking from one video to the other, I've linked to the same song which I've watched last night. But now is different, I am now know who the artist. Gosh...... It was Suju. Sigh* The song itself, it is not that BAD, but it just not right. Glad that I've never like the old Suju. Now, way much better. I am still one of their fan though!

Looking at the PV, it is pretty amusing though.
